The Monastery of Manasija surrounded by magnificent walls and towers of the medieval fortress, lays set in the valley of the Resava River and green hills of vivid gorge. One of the most dignified members, among twenty-four knights of the Dragon Order, Despot Stefan Lazarević constructed it as his endowment monastery in the 15th century. Although heavily damaged, fresco paintings treasured by the Holy Trinity Church are considered as some of the most beautiful works of art among the medieval fresco decorations in Serbia. An oasis of Orthodox Christian spirituality and humbleness, this monastery represents a rear jewel of Serbian architecture, culture and art.

Resava Cave approximately 80 million years old with its 45 million years old decorations was a well-kept secret until just recently. Quietly tucked away under limestone terrain near Despotovac it is one of the oldest and at the same time most beautiful in Serbia. The interior of the cave abounds in numerous and varied galleries, columns, channels, draperies, stalactites, stalagmites and petrified waterfalls. Now a delicacy among the lovers of nature, Resava Cave is probably one of those places which you cannot fully describe in words, photos or videos.

The Lisine Waterfall, a place where the Veliko Vrelo River plummets for approximately 20 m is one of the highest waterfalls in Serbia. It’s located at the foot of Beljanica Mountain in the uniquely beautiful natural environment and protected as a natural monument. Gorgeous amphitheater around the waterfall is carved in karts terrain by the unstoppable power of water, essential creator of surrounding decor. The wonderful scenery, calm and pleasant sounds of water and tasty homemade food from nearby restaurants attract visitors to this still not entirely discovered area.
